Our Mission
IAA's mission is to improve the quality of life for people living with, affected by or at risk for HIV/AIDS or other stigmatized conditions - often related to sex or drug use - through harm reduction, resource development and advocacy as best suits the people who need help.
Fairbanks Opioid Workgroup
William Trawick, Medical Director of The NEST Program (Alaska Neonatology Associates / MedNax Medical Group) will be in Fairbanks to present an overview of that program. The NEST Program in Anchorage works to address substance use/abuse in pregnant women.
Last October the DEA/Fairbanks Native Association conducted an opioid summit in Fairbanks, and they would like to have another Drug Summit in our area (maybe sometime in August). Rick Quintero will be in town from Seattle for a planning session.
We'll also have a Recovery Alaska representative call in to discuss a Fairbanks screening of The Anonymous People and community conversation about recovery advocacy.
